Delegation allows you to transfer your Voting Power to a community member who has volunteered to become a delegate.
Delegating your Voting Power does not affect the ownership of your SAND or LAND. You retain full control and ownership of your SAND and LAND and can continue to use them as you wish.
You can delegate to anyone you believe will actively participate in Sandbox DAO governance and represent your interests. The verified delegates have volunteered for this role. Review their profiles on the Delegation Page and activity before delegating your VP.
Yes. Delegates must own an ENS so they can be recognised on Snapshot when voting. They must adhere to the code of conduct, disclose any conflict of interest, and give up the ability to submit a SIP, to avoid collusion and corruption.
Yes, delegating is an on-chain event and requires a small gas fee (~$5).
No, it’s optional.
To be displayed on The Sandbox DAO Delegates Dashboard, You must propose your candidacy, have voted on at least one of the last three SIPs, present your manifesto, adhere to the delegate guidelines and code of conduct, and successfully pass the KYC check and the interview process.
You can change your delegate at any time by revisiting this page on Snapshot and selecting a new delegate, or by re-delegating the voting power back to yourself.
Yes, you can override your delegate's vote by voting directly on the SIP, through the Website or Snapshot with your own Voting Power. This action will override any previously delegated Voting Power.
No, currently, partial delegations are not supported. However, if you have Voting Power into multiple wallets, you can delegate to multiple delegates.
Ensure that you hold SAND or LAND and are connected to the Ethereum or Polygon network.
No, delegates do not receive additional SAND, LAND or compensation for their role.

Delegation was implemented as a necessary solution to improve participation and governance and implemented at the discretion of the administrator using the operation budget, and to maximize speed to market, it did not require a SIP for approval.
